During the late 30's, design started of two halftracks in the Soviet Union, inspired by the French Citroen-Kegresse designs. Those are the ZiS-22 and the GAZ-60. Both were developed from army trucks already in service, in the case of the ZiS-22 this was the ZiS-5 which was fitted with a tracked running gear in the back. Only a 200 vehicles had been produced between 1938 and 1940 and they were used during the Russo-Finish Winter War and World War Two.
In FHSW, the truck can transport 3 ammoboxes on the back or tow artillery. The artillery include the 85 mm air defense gun M1939 (52-K), 122 mm A-19, 152 mm ML-20, 203 mm B-4 or an 280 mm Br-5. Unlike the Sd.Kfz. 7 it can't provide both ammo and health to infantry at once but it is more mobile. For lighter artillery from 45 mm M1937 to 76 mm ZiS-3 the Universal Carrier is used.
