Both the jeep and motorbikes of the Wehrmacht suffered from inadequate road capability. The German general staff therefore in 1941 demanded a lightweight, floating and riding equipment for reconnaissance missions and commando operations. Based on the proven VW Type 82 Kubelwagen Porsche then developed a completely new design, the Type 166, commonly known as "Schwimmwagen". This excellent vehicle could overcame climbs up to 65 de and could even move in surroundings where only tracked vehicles moved forward.
In the water a small, folding propeller was lowered down to drive. Thus, there was almost no obstacle for the Schwimmwagen, so he was very popular with the reconnaissance units and as commander cars. From 1942 to 1944 approximately 14,300 were produced before production ceased of material shortage.
Using the arrow keys, you can lower or raise the propeller on the back of the Schwimmwagen, which indeed has no technical effect but makes game visually attractive.
