The USS Alabama (BB-60) was the sixth battleship from the United States Nazvy during the war laid down in 1940 and went in service in 1942. It was the fourth and last ship from the South Dakota-class. Until the end off 1943, the ship was used by the British Home Fleet. It was used in defending the islands of Spitzbergen and also during the attack on the German Tirpitz. After 1943, it went to the US Navy as escort for the aircraft carriers. It survives the war. Until now, the Alabama excist and is now a museum in Mobile Bay on the coast of Alabama.
