Also know as the 105 mm Howitzer Motor Carriage T88, the T88 HMC was a self-propelled howitzer variant of the M18 Hellcat. The 76 mm on the M18 was replaced with a 105 mm M4 howitzer with a gun stabilizer. The same howitzer was mounted in M4 and M4A3 Sherman tanks. One vehicle was built but the project was cancelled as the war came to an end. Even with the high speed of the tank the gun has a stabilizer which helps when firing on the move, it fires 105mm HEAT rounds which have a great impact. The impact is so large, that tanks can be damaged even without an direct hit! It can also damage through walls. The best targets are infantry, artillery and light vehicles. You are no match against heavy tanks, so don't try this! With the 105 mm gun there is also the option to fire T18 canister rounds against unarmoured targets.
Essentially an larger version of the M8 HMC Scott, the high speed and firepower has to be utilized wisely since the armour does not stop much and the top is unarmoured.
