Munitionspanzer IV is based on the chassis of the Panzer IV. This vehicle was originally added with Raid on Agheila map in the offical Secret Weapons of WWII expansion. Usually Munitionspanzer vehicles were made using smaller and often obsolete vehicles like the Panzer I, Panzer II and 38(t) but the larger Panzer IV were used for some specific purposes. The inspiration for the game model must have come from the Munitionspanzer IV Ausf. D made to carry ammuntion for the Sturmpanzer IV "Brummbär", in place of the turret was a metal cover over the turret ring and these older models were equipped with sideskirts. Since DICE had only made the late Panzer IV model hull previously this was used to make the munitionspanzer for the game. Anotther case was the dozen or so Panzer IV Ausf. E and D that were modified to be used in the heavy armored artillery regiments, as support vehicles for the heavy gun "Karl-Gerät" and had cranes to move the four 60-cm shells loaded on board.
Munitionspanzer IV in FHSW[]
In Forgotten Hope Secret Weapon the Munitions Panzer IV can either function as an armored personnel carrier with a mobile access point or as an towing vehicle for the heaviest artillery. Unlike in its first appearance in the Raid on Agheila the vehicle can not deploy mines but it can drop off ammo boxes like an Opel Blitz or any other truck loaded with ammo would.
