The MP-3008 is a uncommon submachine gun that appears on maps set in 1945 for the Germans. Mostly randomly like many other German and foreign guns in Volksturm and captured weapons kits. Other kits have either the MP3008 or the MP 40.
The 9 mm MP 3008 (Maschinenpistole 3008), also known as Volks-MP.3008 and Gerät Neumunster was a German substitute standard submachine gun manufactured toward the end of World War II in early 1945. Also known as the Volksmaschinenpistole ("people's submachine gun"), the weapon was closely based on the Sten MKII submachine gun , except for its vertical magazine; some had additional pistol grips. The MP 3008 was an emergency measure, designed at a time when Germany was at the point of collapse. Desperately short of raw materials, the Germans sought to produce a radically cheaper alternative to their standard submachine gun, the MP 40. About 28,000 were made.
There is some difference between the MP-3008, the most diverse was the stock which could be of multiple types and have a pistol grip or not made of either wood, bakelite or steel. Many of the Sten stocks were replicated such as the steel tube type and wire stock. It could have a crude wooden stock like the Volkssturmgewehr 1-5 although instead of a proper sling carry point there was a circular hole in the side of the stock which the canvas sling could be slided through. Apart from the sling slot on the front of the magazine well (if present) the fitting of the sling had to be improvised somewhat. The model ingame has an MP 40 folding stock and pistol grip.
And its design was based on the captured english submachine guns model Sten Mk.II . It is also quite similar to the polish Blyskawica, although it should be stated that both the MP-3008 and Blyskawica are independent designs that were based upon the Sten.
A previous production was the Gerät Potsdam in 1944. But those were exact copies of the Sten Mk.II for clandestine purposes.

This weapon is available in the Alpenfestung map as a spawn kit. It can also be gotten at random when selecting the random smg kits that are available for germany on certain maps.
