During the Second World War, some soldiers perfomed modifications to their M1 Carbines to make them capable of fully automatic fire. TThese converted M1/M2 select-fire carbines saw limited combat service in Europe, primarily during the final Allied advance into Germany. In the Pacific, both converted and original M2 carbines saw limited use in the last days of the fighting in the Philippines. The Army's Ordnance Department, Springfield Armory, Inland, and Winchester also worked on manufacturing a selective fire version of the M1 Carbine. Designated the "Carbine Cal .30 M2", this arm was officially adopted in late 1944 and began to come off production lines at Inland and Winchester in May 1945. Although produced too late to see much action during the Second World War, M2 Carbines were used extensively during the Korean War and in the early stages of the war in Vietnam. The M2 features a selector switch located on the left side of the receiver which allow either semi-or fully-automatic fire, a curved 30-round magazine, and a stock with a heavier fore end than that previously produced for the M1 Carbine.
Ingame, in the kit with M2 carbine you can choose between semi-auto and full-auto mode. Due to high recoil in full auto mode it may be difficult to handle.
