The Lynx Scout Car was a Canadian copy of the British Daimler Dingo. Built in Canada by Ford Motor Company it featured a rear-mounted engine and four-wheel-drive. The Ford V8 engine made it more powerful than its British counterpart, though the transmission and independent suspension of the British vehicle was superior to the Canadian Lynx. Production began in 1942 and by 1945 3,255 Lynxes were produced by Ford at Windsor, Ontario. Australia also had 171 Lynx supplied under the Canadian Mutual Aid (CMA) scheme.
There was also an Italian copy of the Daimler Dingo during the war, like the Canadian one it was called Lynx armored car or Autoblinda Lince
Ingame, it is a fast and lightly-armored vehicle with space for two players, and is intended for quick transport. The Lynx offers good protection for the players inside it compared to other light transport vehicles. While the Daimler Dingo was used since 1940 the Lynx was first built in 1943 so the Lynx is used as an substitute for it on some maps. This vehicle can be found on El Alamein in a desert paintjob with the insignia of the British 7th Armoured Division. Naturally this vehicle is in Battle for Ortona, and the Liberation of Caen where the Canadians fight.
