The Landkreuzer P. 1000 Ratte (lit.: Land Cruiser P. 1000 "Rat") was a design for a superheavy tank for use by Nazi Germany during World War II. It was designed in 1942 by Krupp with the approval of Adolf Hitler, but the project was canceled by Albert Speer in early 1943 and no examples were ever completed. At 1,000 metric tons, the P-1000 would have been over five times as heavy as the Panzer VIII Maus, the largest tank ever built.
The P. 1000 Ratte is a 1000 tonne Heavy Tank with 36 cm thick front armor. Because that, the Ratte can only reach a speed of 40 km/h. The Ratte is a vehicle that is very special in a lot of ways. First, it can't be destroyed from the outside, you have to find a way in, locate the ammunition rack and blow it up with explosives, preferably No.82 Gammon bomb. It's only placed on the map Operation Rattrap, where the destruction of the Ratte is the main objective for Great Britain.
Additionally to the weapons shown on the info box the Ratte is armed with several turrets that all can be used individually:
- 10 x 5 cm KwK 39 (500 shells each)
- AA turret with 8.8 cm Flak 37 (500 shells) and 20 mm Flak 30 (999 x 20 round magazines)
- 6 x Tiger I turrets with 8.8 cm KwK 36 (350 shells each) and coaxial 7.92 mm MG 34 (17 x 150 rounds)
These weapons, in contrary to the Ratte itself, can be destroyed from the outside, and some can be used as a way in. On top of the Ratte is a Kolibri Helicopter that can be used as a scout vehicle.
At the first glance the Landkreuzer P.1000 Ratte uses two 28cm cannons as the main armament but in FHSW 0.51 it is as powerful as twice 50cm.
That you can destroy the turrets on deck with a few shots with the Churchill AVRE, meanwhile the doors inside all blow up? You need only to get near the Ratte, shoot the turrets off and enter the ratte. With only 6 Gammon bombs, the Ratte is destroyed! Try it!
