The Ford GPA was designed to be used in amphibious landing operations, but proved to not handle vary well in open water, and was used by the US. in this role for the Sicily landings. The GPA achieved its greatest popularity during the war in the East, as 3,500 out of the 12,000 produced from 1942 until 1943 were provided to the Soviet Union through Lend-Lease.

Developed by Marmon-Herrington and based on the lengthened chassis of the GPW, the Seep as it was soon called proved to be too heavy on land and too small on the water, at least in western eyes, and therefore saw its only serious western use at the Sicily landing in July, 1943, at which time its production had already ceased.

The Russians however, facing numerous wide rivers to be crossed and as many bridgeheads to be gained on their way to Berlin, found the GPA's abilities so useful that they developed an almost exact copy after the end of the war.

In FHSW, Ford GPA is a mobile spawnpoint. These vehicles can determine the outcome of a battle. They are teamwork vehicles so use them accordingly. If the driver can bring it into a good position your team can spawn in on it and attack from there. Make sure to clear the seats once you spawned in, to give the rest of the team a chance to spawn in there as well. Use this feature wisely. Sure, a mobile spawn point right on the enemy flag is dandy but it can get destroyed easily there, so it is usually better to keep it in a safer location nearby.
