This Panther looking tank is the Hungarian 44M Tas. In 1943, the Hungarian General Staff ordered to design and produce a new heavy tank for his own country, which would be used against the heavy Russian tank divisions. Meanwhile, the Hungarian army used five Panther's and three Tiger tanks. Because of the high production cost of the Tiger in wartime, they decided to design a tank based on the Panther design. The prototype was built by the Aircraft Factory of Manfred Weiss and it was ready in the autumn of 1943. However, on June 27, 1944, the factory was bombed by the Russians and the only type was destroyed. After this, the Hungarian army had never finnished a new prototype before they surrendered.
